Area Local to Lazy at Karl Heine Strasse Apartment
The area of Plagwitz is renowned as the hub of industry in continental europe
during the late 19th Century. Many visitors come to the area to see the signs
of industrial past which is evident in some magnificent period buildings either
on foot or by canal boat along the Karl Heine Canal which runs behind the
apartment. The area is today characterised by a flourishing set of artists and
small boutiques are popping up in the region to support their trade.
Directly
opposite the apartment is the Schaubuhne Lindenfels cultural centre which
offers regular theatre and cinema:http://www.schaubuehne.com/
For eating in the locality, a chinese restaurant is directly opposite the
apartment and highly recommended is the Jospeh Pub which offers typical
German fare in a pub in the Irish style (Joseph Strasse, 100m). Take away
offerings are numerous and within a 100m footwalk.
For Children
Children of all ages are well-catered for in the numerous parks and
playgrounds in the city. Perhaps the best playground is located in the Clara
Zetkin Park, just off Karl Tauchnitz Strasse. For play during wet weather, the
excellent facility at Euro Eddy around 4 kms north west of the city is
unmissable: http://www.euroeddy-leipzig.de/.
For a full day out, the funland at
the Belantis park, to the south of the city is worth a look: www.belantis.de
